MMM has long been home to me raving about BEL songs, and folks, she just gets better and better.

Written for her sister, going through a breakup, the first verse shows BEL trying to find the good from the jump. Asked me how could you be so blind / I said the ending was divine / theres no such thing as wasted time / I think we grow up when we cry.

The last line HITTING for me - living through our emotions, letting them teach us what we care about, what’s important. Musically there are hints of Musgraves and more exciting for me, a bit of Buscabulla. Both artists who are able to navigate hard emotions without getting off the dance floor - BEL doing the same here.

The pre-chorus draws me in, her Spanish a new wrinkle in the BEL catalog, and a welcomed one. Erupting into a bright bi-lingual chorus. The titular lyric translating to like ‘we say bye happily’ but reads more as a cheeky little ‘Kick rocks loser!!!’ waving bye to her sister’s ex with no remorse.

It’s fun, it’s loving, it’s supportive, it’s exactly what you want to hear when you start to realize the relationship was never meant to be. I’ve been obsessed with this one and don’t think that’ll change any time soon.
