Happy Monday <3

While the year has certainly begun in unexpectedly difficult ways I’m still determined to build out the paid tier of the newsletter with more features, more special posts, more experiments to make the subscription even more worthwhile.

Today you’ll find a new playlist full of songs I’ve been meaning to listen to (and finally have, and love), along with an exploration on how to keep up with the unending flow of music we (I) face, and the overwhelm that comes with it.

But first!!! My new show, Two by Two is back! LA readers, please come join us on February 4th back at Scribble. The poster and link are below, another stacked lineup… I’m so proud. Sign up for an annual MMM subscription today and you’ll get a free ticket <3

The shape of all this work, the newsletter, the shows, and everything, is all still evolving, but these shows have felt so special and are becoming a bigger part than I expected. Full of gratitude and a sincere hope to see you there!

We’ll be back later this week for an end of the month wrap up.

How Do We Listen To It All?

When I take on The Maxies, I’m always kind of in shock. How much music there has been. How much music I loved, bookmarked as “Come back to this for The Maxies” and then never returned to. And beyond that, the countless artists and albums that I see - whether on a playlist, on someone’s IG, on another newsletter - and think ‘Oh! I gotta check that out’ and fail to do just that. Here’s a playlist featuring some of that music, that I’ve found the time for and enjoyed.
