Big shout to music legend and champion and icon and role model Margeaux who had this on her 2023 wrapped. I’ve been a sucker for it ever since.

That chord progression is perfect full stop. The claps slowly creeping in with the chants following closely behind. The song envelops you before you know it. Those claps are really something special, I don’t know how or why but they sound SO much more real than any other clap that’s ever been recorded. Like they sit between us and the recording. Some half-alive loop.

Ricardo’s vocals are layered so well, a charming melody with so much texture and depth. Quickly he makes way for the piano, a jazzy, exploratory solo that walks the song home. The kind of song that is over too soon yet still feels like I was lost in it for ten minutes. It’s so stunning and one I can’t stop coming back to.
