Superfan fucking rules, that’s the thing.
This song has been knocking around the ol MMATOD playlist, and every time it comes on I think “oh shit, what is this???” falling for this song like it’s the first time, every time.
Opening with the acoustic guitars, unafraid of exciting chords, venturing beyond a traditional progression. As Superfan starts singing (Sometimes I just want you tell me what you think is wrong with me, what an opener good LORD), the drums wake up and the whole band falls into place. The song heavy and fuzzy and loose with Superfan, bright and confident over it all.
That wonky riff popping up under physical, bringing some levity to a heavy moment. Superfan’s voice is so sick, leading the way as the band slowly slides downward here running into the 2min mark. Regaining some strength as we work towards the title lyric.
The format of the 2nd half mimics the first, this expansive, extended verse changing shapes as it goes. Landing a sick blow as Superfan reaches for When I dieeeeee. So sick, can’t wait for more from them.
